Arbeitsschutz mit System: Zertifizierung nach nationalen und internationalen Standards 

Safety and health protection are fundamental pillars of excellent research at the Institute of Technical Physics (ITEP). To ensure these remain at the highest level over the long term, the institute operates a systematic occupational safety and health management system (AMS). Its effective implementation has now been officially confirmed by the Verwaltungs-Berufsgenossenschaft (VBG) and the Unfallkasse Baden-Württemberg (UKBW).

During a ceremonial presentation at the Institute, the Institute’s leadership and the members of the Institute Steering Committee accepted the official certification certificate. Representatives from the VBG and the UKBW praised the high level of commitment and the successful implementation of the complex requirements in the Institute’s day-to-day operations.

Certified Quality According to the Highest Standards

The successful audit officially certifies that ITEP’s implemented system fully meets the strict requirements for systematic and effective occupational safety and health. The certification is based on:

• “AMS – Systematic Occupational Safety and Health” (procedural principle of the German employers’ liability insurance associations)
• The National Guidelines for Occupational Safety and Health Management Systems
• The international guidelines of ILO-OSH 2001
• The international standard DIN EN ISO 45001:2023

With its successful certification according to the current international standard DIN EN ISO 45001:2023, ITEP is playing a pioneering role. It is among the first scientific institutions in Germany and Europe to demonstrably meet these comprehensive occupational safety and health requirements.
