Biography
I received my Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Southeast University, Nanjing, China, in 2017, and my Master's degree from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany, in 2021. Since then, I have been pursuing my PhD at the Institute for Technical Physics (ITEP), as part of the Real-Time Systems for Energy Technologies (RTSET) group and Energy Lab at KIT.
Research
My research focuses on active distribution grids and demand response, using power electronics interfaces. I investigate how the power of a grid segment (an aggregation of loads, generation, and storage) responds to changes in voltage and frequency, so-called power sensitivity, and use this knowledge to develop control strategies at the PE interface level. By deliberately controlling voltage and frequency, we can regulate power flows and transform the passive distribution grid into an active, responsive participant in the energy system.
These methods are developed and validated through real-time simulation and Power Hardware-in-the-Loop (PHIL) experiments, where real hardware operates within various simulated grid environments. This approach allows rigorous testing under realistic and flexible grid conditions.
Experience Abroad

I carried out a 3-month research visit at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, Australia, within the Real-Time Simulations group under Prof. Georgios Konstantinou, funded by the DAAD Australia-Germany Joint Research Cooperation Scheme. I also visited McGill University, Montréal, Canada, under the supervision of Prof. Xiaozhe Wang, supported by Mitacs funding. These stays allowed me to broaden my perspective on power systems research, engage with different academic communities, and develop collaborations beyond the KIT network.
We are KIT
As part of KIT's 200th anniversary, I was selected as one of 50 most appreciated colleagues from nearly 500 nominations, as part of the campaign "We are KIT" Being nominated by my colleagues for this recognition means a great deal to me. I feel very grateful to be part of this excellent and supportive group.
