Roberto Bellapianta

Roberto Bellapianta holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Genoa. During his Master's thesis, he joined the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), where he developed and validated a supercapacitor-based control algorithm for grid frequency support — work focused on delivering fast frequency response using supercapacitors. Following his graduation, Roberto began a PhD at KIT in the Real-Time Simulation Group at ITEP, where his research focuses on power quality in particle accelerators. In this role, he collaborates closely with KARA (Karlsruhe Research Accelerator), contributing to the intersection of power electronics and large-scale scientific infrastructure.
