The fabrication of the cross-shaped superconductor core of the HTS CroCo is done in a single, continuous fabrication process at a speed of approx. 3 meters / min and can be scaled to long lengths of hundreds of meters.
In order to obtain the final round shape, the corners of the cross are filled with suitable filling material (e.g. solder) and jacketed by a round tube, e.g. made of copper.
